Awareness Seminar on Combating Breast Cancer

Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Hadi Ahmad, Dean of the Open College of Education, the Division of Total Quality Management and Institutional Development in the Dean's Office organized an awareness seminar entitled “Combating Breast Cancer: Prevention and Early Diagnosis.” The seminar was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Sayyab Hall at the Rusafa Educational Center.The seminar was supervised by the Center Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Jalal Jasim Al-Rikabi, and the Quality and Development Officer, Assistant Professor Dr. Qasim Abdul-Hussein Ahmad. It was presented by researcher and breast cancer activist Mrs. Zahraa Raad Mohsen—Head of the Women's Affairs Department at “Saheeh,” the Cancer Fighting Organization.The seminar covered several key topics, including:An introduction to breast cancer and the main risk factors that contribute to its development.Methods of self-examination and the laboratory and radiological tests that support early diagnosis.Prevention strategies and a healthy lifestyle to reduce the incidence of the disease.The session saw active participation from the audience, who raised various questions about regular screening procedures and ways to access specialized medical services. At the conclusion of the seminar, the Rusafa Educational Center presented Mrs. Zahraa Raad Mohsen with a certificate of thanks and appreciation in recognition of her outstanding awareness-raising efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
